Guyana is dominated by mighty rivers such as the Demerara, the Berbice, and the Essequibo, which provide essential highways into the rain forests and jungles of the interior. Another attraction is Kaieteur Falls, where the 400-foot Potaro River plunges 741 feet downward from the Pakaraima Plateau. It is one of the world's great waterfalls and a truly gorgeous sight to behold. You should also plan to visit the beautiful Orinduik Falls, the Marshall Falls, the Kaieteur Gorge, and the remote Mount Roraima, the inspiration for Conan Doyle's movie "Lost World."
