INTRODUCTION
Waterloo is a small city with a big history. Many non-Belgians live in Waterloo. It is home to St. John's International School, Mastercard International headquarters, and is close to Brussels.
HISTORY
The Battle of Waterloo between Napoleon Bonaparte and the Alliance of the Seventh Coalition took place here in 1815.
ATTRACTIONS
The museums and attractions in Waterloo are mostly dedicated to the famous battle. The Musee Wellington is the inn where the Duke of Wellington stayed before defeating Napoleon's army. The Musee de Cires has models of soldiers from the battle. The Eglise St-Joseph contains memorial plaques to the fallen British soldiers from the battle. The Butte de Lion offers a great view over the battlefield.
St. John's International School is the oldest and largest international school in the world.
