Tishomingo County

Tishomingo County lies in the northeast corner of Mississippi, bordering Alabama on the east and Tennessee to the north. Tishomingo has it all for anyone who enjoys the great outdoors. There are plenty of trails to hike in Tishomingo State Park; they wind thru hills, beside creeks and some splendid rock formations, which are quite popular. Haynes Lake, located in the center of the park, provides some beautiful scenery along with camping and good fishing. There are several cabins available for groups or individual families.

Tishomingo is situated near the Tennessee Tombigbee Waterway, and the town of Tishmomingo boasts the beautiful Crows Neck area that is used frequently by college and high school students from all over the USA for studying the environment. Tishomingo county is only 20 miles away from one of the most popular summer destinations in the southeast, Pickwick Dam, on the Tennessee River. The Tennessee River is great for watersports such as jet skiing, waterskiing, and swimming. Eagle watching and fishing are also popular, and there are several large bass tournaments each year. It is also a great place for a lazy-day picnic with the family.

There are several small towns in the vicinity, Iuka, Burnsville, Tishomingo, and Belmont, where you can find the feel of America in bygone days in the smiles and friendliness of its people. Come and see for youself, you will love it.
