St. Charles, Missouri is the home of the Oktoberfest which takes place by the riverfront. St. Charles is the oldest city on the Missouri River (circa 1769) and is well known for it's historic architecture and attractions: the Lewis and Clark Rendezvous, Missouri's First State Capitol and origin of the Boone's Lick Trail?. Once revered as a major trading center now St. Charles holds special events for its one million visitors each year. 'The Festival of the Little Hills', the cities largest festival is held the third weekend in August, followed by the 'Civil War Reenactment'. They excel in bringing history alive for the family.
