Rottnest Island is located about 45 minutes by ferry off the coast of Fremantle in Western Australia.
It is a beautiful place to visit if you love the ocean and beaches. There are many beaches around the island, small little spots to enjoy what nature has to offer. No cars are allowed on there except the police and service vehicles.
KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
There is a bus that runs each hour around the island and drops you off at the different beaches.
I recommend Rottnest Island (or Rotto as the locals call it)to anyone who loves nature and a good time.
Just don't forget the camera and sunscreen as snorkelling is a great thing to do there but quick to get burned (i did, every time i went - an hour seemed like a minute when in the water). So just do a search on Rottnest Island in google and you can find information on it...worth the trip.
At the main settlement, where you come off the ferry, there is a pub and cafe and a few shops. There are various choices for accommodation on the island from camping, renting out a unit or the lovely hotel.
