I moved to Rochelle, Ill., in 2001. I really never was a big train fan until I learned a little bit about the history of Rochelle. They call it the hub city. The reason for this is because this is the link between Chicago and the west for almost all rail traffic. There is a wonderfull rail museum located here in the town, as well as a newly developed intermodle.
I do have to say there is quite a lot of trains that roll through here, all day every day and it just keeps getting more and more pleasing for rail fans such as myself. If you enjoy trains, as most do, come and check it out. We are located 2 1/2 miles west of Route 39 down Route 38 or Lincoln Highway, as well as from Route 88 north on Highway 251. Come into town and look for the signs. You will be amazed at what you see and find. As far as literature, the museum is jam-packed with great historical facts. So come one and all, and check it out; you never know what you may find.
