Pioneer Square is home to many eateries, art galleries and night clubs. It’s also Seattle’s oldest neighborhood, and now a historical district.
The popular underground Tour and the Klondike Gold Rush National Historic Park can be explored. The tour visits the eerie sunken storefronts of what was ground level Pioneer Square before the Great Fire of 1889, and the quaint museum is a recollection of the gold seekers that converged on Pioneer Square on their way to the Yukon.
If shopping strikes your fancy, there are stores that offer a wide range of merchandise, from handmade toys to collectible antiques, and a plethora of books. You'll definitely have plenty to do in this wonderful downtown area of Seattle.
