Painted Desert ArizonaThe question you will ask yourself is 'how can nature create something like this' The Painted Desert is absolutley beautiful and covers an area of nearly 94,000 acres that stretches southeast from the Grand Canyon to the Petrified Forest National Park. The desert gets its name from the multi coloured sands that cover the area. These amazing colours have been formed mainly of mud, sandstone and volcanic ash.
