Mexico Travel Guide

Mexico draws much of its economic support from tourism. The beaches of Cancun, Cabo San Lucas, and Puerto Vallarta attract college students on spring break and families making stops on vacation cruises. Snorkeling and cliff-diving are common activities off Mexico's coast. The Meso-American ruins of the Aztec and Mayan civilizations in central and southern Mexico are also popular destinations.

A Little about Mexico

Mexico is a traveller's paradise. With its desert landscapes, snow-capped volcanoes, ancient ruins, industrialised cities, colonial towns, beautiful resorts, and deserted beaches, Mexico has something to offer everyone.

Mexico's mix of modern and traditional is the key to its charm.

HISTORY

The first major Mesoamerican civilization was established by the Olmec, who flourished between about 1500 and 600 BC. During 1535 to 1821, (Spanish colonial period). Expeditions from Mexico eventually made present-day Texas, New Mexico and California part of New Spain.
