Massachusetts Travel Guide

Massachusetts is the most populous of the six New England states. It is also home to the region's main urban center and capital city, Boston, which claims most of the state's population. Most of the states population is centered around the Boston metropolitan area and in the suburbs in the western part of the state. The eastern side of the state is mostly rural. It borders five other states New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.

Geography

Massachusetts is a very geographically diverse state. The western most part of the state is home to the Berkshire Mountain range, which is popular for skiers and winter sports enthusiasts. The eastern part borders the ocean and so has many popular beaches including the world famous vacation destination of Cape Cod. The longest river in the state, the Charles river, runs between Boston and Cambridge and ends in Hopkinton.
