From 1871 to 1891, this was the home of the famous satirist, Samuel Clemens, also known as Mark Twain. The large house is where many of his famous works were written including The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Prince and The Pauper. The house has gone through many restorations and is now a perfect example of the original 19th century mansion. Here, you can take a tour of the different rooms like the family library as well as get the history of Mark Twain himself. Next to the house is a museum dedicated to this great author. This is the place to go for anyone interested in the author or even just the time period he worte in.
