INTRODUCTION
Capital of Montana, this city is situated in Lewis and Clark County. It is also home to Helena Regional Airport. Surrounded by mountains and forestland, this is a great area for recreational activities.
HISTORY
This town was established after the discovery of gold at Last Chace Creek in 1864. It became known as the "Queen City of the Rockies." The town was originally named Crabtown and was later changed to Pumpkinville and Squashtown. By 1888 there were over 50n millionaires that lived in this city due to the large amount of gold. It was named the state capital in 1889.
