Harrods was founded in 1834 and is one of the largest department stores in the world, housing 330 departments. Located in the Knightsbridge area of London, Harrods sells nearly everything, including clothing, electronics, jewelry, bridal wear, pets, toys and food.
Harrods has 28 restaurants and a famous Foodhall, where you can dine on delicious gourmet foods from sushi to chocolate! Even if you don't plan on eating, the Foodhall is ornately decorated and a site to behold.
Can't afford anything in Harrods? Not to worry. The famous department store actually has a gift shop, where you can purchase something that fits your budget and have a keepsake to take home.
Harrods is owned by Mohammed al Fayed (he also owns the Fulham Football Club and Hotel Ritz Paris). Mohammed Al Fayed is the father of Dodi Al Fayed, who was romantically linked with Diana, Princess of Wales, and died with her in a car crash in August 1997. There is a memorial to the couple inside of Harrods.
