Gulf Of MexicoThe gulf's eastern, northern, and northwestern shores lie within the United States; its southwestern and southern shores lie within Mexico; and its southeastern shore is bordered by Cuba. It connects with the Atlantic Ocean, by way of the Florida Straits between United States and Cuba, and with the Caribbean Sea, by way of the Yucatan Channel between Mexico and Cuba.
