Denali National Park is located about 300 miles south of the Arctic Circle. With six million acres of wilderness, this park is home to glaciers and a sub-arctic ecosystem. Wildlife in the park includes moose, caribou, Dall sheep, grizzly bears and wolves. It is also home to the tallest mountain in North America, Mount McKinley. The word "Denali" means "the great one" in the native Athabaskan language and refers to the mountain itself. Mt. McKinley was named after president William McKinley of Ohio in 1897.
