Cuyahoga Falls Ohio

Founded in 1812 this city is named after the Cuyahoga River which means "crooked river" in the language of the Mohawk indians which once settled the area. A series of waterfalls, springing from this river, run right through the city itself and contribute to its charm and beauty. Famous for more than just its waterfalls, this city was immortalized in song entitled My City Was Gone", by the rock band The Pretenders.

Cuyahoga Falls is also the home of the beautiful Cuyahoga Valley National Park. The only national park in Ohio, it is a must see for anyone who enjoys expansive forest, caves, lovely waterfalls, bike trails, and exhilerating hikes. Offering more than just beautiful scenery, the park also features art exhibits, outdoor concerts and scenic railroad tours. Spanning over 18,000 acres, this park offers something for the entire family and is an ideal tourist destination for anyone who loves nature.
