Crestview, the county seat of Okaloosa County, is known as the Hub City, because it's located at the junction of three major highways. Due to the city's proximity to Eglin Air Force Base and Hurlburt Field, Crestview is the home to many aerospace companies.
Each April, Crestview celebrates its European heritage with the Old Spanish Trail Festival. The name refers to the one-time trade route between El Paso, Texas and Jacksonville, Florida. The festival includes a parade, beauty pageant, and arts and crafts.
If old-time country music is your thing, visit the Panhandle Opry. A longtime Crestview tradition, the Opry offers musical shows on the first and third Saturdays of every month.
You can spend a day on the links at one of Crestview's two golf courses.
