Central Park New York City

Located in the middle of the city, Central Park stretches from 59th Street to 110th Street. It is the biggest park in the city - even bigger than the country of Monaco! It houses many attractions including an ice skating rink in the winter and the Delacorte Theater which presents Shakespeare in the park during the summertime. There is even a castle and a zoo.

Walk around and take in the scenery and different statues around the park or sit down and relax on the sparkling green lawns. The park is a good respite from the hustle of the big city, even if you are a New Yorker!

Some especially popular stops are the museums that surround Central Park. The most famous of these is the Metropolitan Museum of Art, commonly known as the Met. The museum displays art ranging from ancient to modern times from all over the world and has some sweeping views of the park. The Guggenheim is a great spot for anyone interested in Modern Art, and the architecture alone is worth the trip, as it was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. For any history buffs, the American Museum of Natural History is another fantastic museum that is worth a visit.

If you are visiting during the winter season, The Tavern on the Green is a great place for dinner. It is located inside Central Park and is stunningly decorated during the holiday season.

A final spot to visit would be The Plaza Hotel, a hotel that has been famous for its luxury since it opened in 1907.
