Aurora Ohio

Aurora, located in Portage County, was originally formed from land belonging to the Connecticut Western Reserve. Known for its lovely foliage, it has been names a "Tree City" by the National Arbor Day Foundation.

That being said, Aurora has more to offer than just beautiful scenery. Founded in 1799, parts of the original Pioneer Trail still exist in and around Aurora. It is also the location of many beautiful historic homes and buildings that pay homage to its rich history as a colonial Americna town.

While enjoying the natural sights and colonial architecture, travellers must also find time to visit the third largest amusement park in Ohio, Geauga Lake and Wildwater Kingdom, which was founded in Aurora in 1888.
