INTRODUCTION
New Zealand is one of the most beautiful countries in the world, with some of the most gracious and friendly people. The variety of activities and sights is amazing. If you like sailing, any island in the South Pacific will suite you. Auckland, however, is the place for sailing. Nearly 90% of the residents own a sailboat and can spin tales of the sea for hours.
If you want to explore the Islands of New Zealand, you may find yourself at the mouth of an ancient volcanic crater, now lined with fauna of every kind, or you may explore the cascading rivers.
One thing is for certain you will see sheep. You probably had no idea how many different kind of sheep there were, let alone just how many could be found in one place. The hillsides are speckled with the animals. Stop of at one of many sheep farms and watch a sheering. It is an educational experience.
Rolling green hills, rushing white waters, crashing Pacific waters on the beach head, or pebbled beach sands. The beauty of New Zealand is worth the trip.
New Zealand is the home of the kiwi, and New Zealanders refer to themselves as "kiwis" - not in reference to the fruit, but rather, in reference to a rather queer looking bird!
