A Stay At Mandalay Bay

Mandalay Bay has deluxe rooms as well as suites. Rates fluctuate with the day of the week, and one night's deposit is required. I paid an average of $153.50/nigh. Ask for "strip" room or "poolside" if you're staying in the Towers for the best views. So I'm back. I stayed at Mandalay Bay Hotel Aug. 28th thru the 31st, 2006. Bad timing. Never go to Vegas until after Labor Day when the kiddies are back in school. The rooms were nice and include fast-speed internet connection. Lots of goodies in the bathroom, ie. shampoo, body wash, soaps, etc. Two blow dryers, ironing board and iron and lots of closet space. The rooms were noisy though. You could hear everything going on in the halls and the next rooms. The staff is great and very accomodating, but too pricey for what you get. The hotel food leaves much to be desired, but the independent restaurants were pretty good. They have a large casino area. Lots of noise and celebration at the Crap Tables every night, but no winners at the Slots. Several high roller game rooms, lots of exclusive gambling. The hotel location is not close to the strip, but they do offer a tram (train on high tracks) to the Luxor and Excalibur, and you can get to the strip from there. Overall, I would rate this hotel a 7 out of ten.
