Oplenac Wine Route - Royal wine

In the early 15th century, Despot Stefan Lazarević often went hunting on Mt. Kosmaj, where he learned of Pavlovac, today Koraćica wines. The crucial 1903 saw the establishment of the Venčac viticultural cooperative and wine cellars of Kings Petar and Aleksandar Karađorđević, who have spread the fame of Oplenac wines all over Europe.

Župa Wine Route - Seat of the Grapevine

The seat of grapevine, Župa, features scenery distinctive of traditional Serbian viticulture and winemaking. The region as a whole can be likened to a well-governed manor. Some 50 producers have resumed the old winemaking tradition and are today exhibiting their wines during a grape harvesting festival. During the three festival days, young wine of the Župa cellars incessantly flows from the town square fountain. Monastery wines can be tasted at the nearby Ljubostinja monastery, which is an impressive experience in itself.
