Toledo lies 70 km south of Madrid, and is the perfect place to observe the blend of Christian, Moorish and Jewish influences that make much of Spain so unique. Much of Toledo is surrounded by walls, and medieval churches, plazas and historic monuments abound. It is known as the place where the famous Spanish Renaissance artist El Greco worked for much of his life.
