Bucks County is home to the famous Peddler's Village. Peddler's Village hosts a variety of shops including antique and discount retail outlets, along with wonderful restaurants. The old feel of the small town is great, and all of the people are nice and very willing to help visitors find their way.
Other retail locations can be found in the town of New Hope, positioned on the Delaware River. New Hope's small town setting offers an atmosphere unlike any other, and provides visitors with privately-owned stores free from corporate commercialization. Considered to be "artsy," this village gives you a slice of history along with the vibrance of Bucks County culture.
For history buffs, also located on the Delaware is Washington Crossing State Park. Here is where General Washinton crossed the Delaware on Christmas night to surprise the Hessian soliders at Trenton during the Revolutionary War. 478 acres were preserved on and around the embarkment site, that includes a visitor's center, as well as the Thompson-Neely House, headquarters of American officers in 1776. Each year on the morning of December 26th, a reenactment of the crossing takes place in replica boats.
Lots of people love to go tubing down the Delaware River, and its a fun activity on a hot summer day. You can start and end in almost any spot along the River, just make sure someone will be there to pick you up.
