This historic lighthouse was built in 1859 at the northern tip of the island and is the second tallest lighthouse in the United States. It is now open to be viewed by tourists along with the Barnegat Lighthouse Museum and State Park. Located in an old schoolhouse, the museum features pictures of Barnegat Light from the beginning of the 20th century. The original flood light is also on display. Climb up to the top and see the best view on the island. It is also fun to just walk along the shore rocks and look up at the magnificent structure.
